Recommend me a movie

I feel the need to watch a great movie that will make me feel the way I did when I watched The Crying Game for the first time, or Carlito's Way, or Leon.

Erm....like I had watched a great movie....

Actually that is a perfectly reasonable question and as it happens not easy to answer now I think about it. In terms of emotions, it would be different for each film so I suppose my point is that each film just moved me in some way.

Last good film I saw was 'The Lives of Others' which might not be everyone's cup o' cha.

Last great film I saw was 'Battle of Algiers'

Go onto imdb.com, Top 100 list, http://www.imdb.com/chart/top they are usually all quality. Or at least worth seeing.

Thanks, Niall. Great idea. That list contains many of the films that fall into the category I had in mind. Seen most of them of course but some I haven't seen for a while and would be worth watching again.

Low budget sort of whodunnit in reverse. Quite quirky!

Funny Games (the original version) if you want to go to bed feeling all horrible!

Seen As Good as it Gets and Memento and agree they are both very good and are definitely on the right lines of what I'm looking for. Also seen Ronin which qualifies too. Not seen In Bruges so may give that a go.

Believe it or not I haven't seen the Dark Knight yet. I wanted to see it at an Imax but never got round to it - just don't get out so much these days with all the kids that seem to be springing up in our house.
