I have decided to go with a specialized secteur comp, so no triple. http://www.evanscycles.com/products...ffiliate&utm_campaign=awin&promo=Sub+Networks

I've been informed by LBS that the gearing will be ok for this area.

Got to be better than my old steel bike, which if anybody can suggest where to advertise it I would be grateful.

Nice bike good choice I think. Unless you live in a very hilly area the gears will be fine. 34 x 28 is similar ratio to the 30 x 25 a lot of triples come with.

ebay is good for old bikes,

Phew! Thanks for that.

Being new to the bike scene, I'm a bit ignorant so I usually go on what I'm told by so called people in the know. I'm a prime candidate to get ripped off really, that's why I've gone to Evans'. Wouldn't have had the confidence or know how to buy online and certainly not second hand.

Nice to know you can really on good advice from our LBS'.
