The RSP is doing very well though I have to say that it has not been running through any prolonged rain as of yet.Like many I don't bother with a watch these days so the best on-bike feature is the clock! The cadence reading is sometimes useful as a nudge reminder to spin faster and rest my knee.

Cateye Strada or Cateye Micro, both wireless. If you get either one of these then I'd recommend buying one of these too...

These things are tiny and are better on aero blades than the crappy magnet you get with the Cateyes, and cheap.

Here's another looking for a new computer. I've had a Mity 8 for the last 6 years, but the contacts are beginning to get intermittent so I thought I might get one with cadence. I was rather dismayed to see how little choice of wired computers there is. I was on the verge of ordering a BC1609 until I found out that the sensor lead is not long enough. I've contemplated the Strada but it doesn't have average cadence, any other recommendations?

What will you use the cadence function for? Once you have a feel for cadence, it's a bit superfluous IMHO.

Better save up and get HRM, or better still, save up longer and get a Powertap.

presta I had the Mity 8 for 5/6 years and have recently upgraded it to the Cateye V2c which has everything you want including average cadence. It is just the one computer which runs 2 sensor magnets so the set up is quite easy.
I paid £61 for it which was a bargain compared to the normal price. I will check the website or my invoice if you are interested.

Wireless so no cable length to worry about.
Take it from a radio engineer: never use radio when a pair of wires will do just as well.......
