Once again you seem to think this debate is revolving around you, and don't understand that this is a common theme that arises again and again throughout these discussions

However as you have decided to claim that this has "been explained" and ignored, let's for the continuity of this thread answer the following very simple questions.....

1.Bang your head against the wall with a helmet on and without if it hurts less with a helmet does it prove anything?
2.Bang your head against the wall with a canteloupe on and without and it hurts less with a canteloupe does it prove anything?

Make it as simple as you like for us thickies?

While in gedankenexperiment mode try answering this one too:

1. Stand upright and get someone to swing a piece of 2x4 an inch above the top of your skull
2. Repeat with a helmet on.

Which hurt most?

May I point out that a Canteloupe would also be as suitable control for this test, although I must admit in fairness that some varieties of Canteloupe have a thicker flesh than others and we would have to test each variety in order to gain a full picture

You would also need to test different designs in different stages of ripeness, for example

and again......so your trying to make the point that helmets are not worth wearing because a melon would do the same job
People on building site should not wear hard hats because a melon would also protect them, using your logic

when you struggle to understand the concept of safety you result into poking fun, thats when you know you have run out of things to say

Ah, but you miss one vital point.
A melon would do just as good a job of protecting your head as a hard hat....but only for a limited period as it would go off!
That's why contractors on site insist on hard hats, it would be too expensive to organise and pay for a delivery of fresh melons every day.

No. Part of the 'proof' you use for wearing a helmet is this mental excercise: 'Bang your head against a wall with a helmet on and then repeat the same task without a helmet. The conclusion is, obviously, that banging your head with the helmet hurts less and therefore it offers me protection from impact. Therefore I wear a helmet. And anyone who doesn't is an idiot.

Cunobelin's point, which you seem determined not to 'get' is that if you repeat the excercise with a melon on your head you'll achieve the same results.

He's not saying that you should wear a helmet to protect your head in an accident - just that your reasons for doing so don't stand up to scrutiny.

Oh, you added your own bit there and put words into my mouth, please stop making things up, it doesnt help your or cunobelins argument

So anyone who wears a helmet to protect their head because it hurts less banging it with than without is doing so with poor reasoning because a melon does the same.

And you say my reasons dont stand up to scrutiny!

Yawn.

if you find it boring why even post? if youve nothing sensible to add why come here at all?

I refuse to believe that you are so dumb that you can't understand Cunobelin's fruit helmet. So I figure you must be pretending to not understand it. But you'll keep on posting because when everyone eventually gives up you'll be able to have the last word and can convince yourself that you won the argumant. The debating tactics of the playground. Boring. Hence yawn.

Let's try this again:

playground mentality, lol, you honestly dont see the irony do you, posting something twice and getting irate doesnt mean your post is any better

Ive already answered to cunos post, just read it again and tell me why a melon having a (claimed) same affect means a helmet is as useful as a piece of fruit, and that aint childish, do me a favour
