That's probably one of the cheapest bikes Raleigh sell, at 2023 prices.

I do remember they weren't that cheap in the 80's when my folks got me one. My mate got the Grifter !

I got my Raleigh Road Ace at 16. Spent a good blow of my wages on it, but my god was it so much better than the cheap stuff. It was a cracking bike, some of it still is on my Ribble 653.

Does it have cotterpin cranks? Hard to tell from picture

It doesn't look like it from other pictures i've seen. They have the same shaped crank arms but the tell-tale cotter pin nut doesn't seem to be there.

The ITV interview was deffo on adapted bike as it had front and rear mechs and fitted the adult.
