I accidentally knocked a plastic bottle of vitamin c tablets off a kitchen surface yesterday. They fell less than 3 feet yet ended up 5 feet away and then only stopped when the bottle hit a cupboard and couldn't travel further. Why does an item that falls directly down, fall a certain distance, hit the ground, then travel almost twice as far (and could've gone further), if that ground is perfectly flat and doesn't have a downward slope? 🤔


Putting it simply, how can a right angle drop

Even if both you statements above were true (which neither are), they would still know that attempting to go to an American style system woul be complete political suicide.

If they put that into their manifesto, they would be lucky to get a dozen seats. If they tried doing it without putting it in their manifesto, they would find a rather large proportion of their MPs quitting the party.

It will already have been rolling when it left the kitchen surface. The speed of rotation will also have increased slightly as it fell over the lip. And then the drop won't have been exactly at 90 degrees, and some of the energy gained in falling will have been converted to more spin as it bounced.

Sometimes. Many councils don't accept it in the kerbside recycling collectons, but a few do.

Just watching the fruit flies in my kitchen it made me wonder how nature made them. How did it make blood thin enough to move round their tiny bodies? How did nature develop their tiny brains? 🤔

I have found that a banana does help with diorrea..........but you have to shove it well up.
Oh......and be very careful when you come to remove it
