The paint has dried and is now harder than a Ross Kemp documentary, so more rebuild goodness over the coming days.

Did you do all the paint yourself? I must admit the colour looks really nice now it's on the frame, much better than I thought it would be. For some reason it goes really well with the alloy parts. Is it rattle can stuff or proper 2-pack car paint?
P.S. go for the 6 speed freewheel. I've got both 5 and 6's and the latter are much more user-friendly with only two tooth gaps between the small sprockets not three teeth like on the 5 speeds. On 5 speeds I often find myself wanting a gear midway between 4th and 5th, but on a 6 speed, 5th is that goldilocks ratio.

6'4" and about 255lbs, so perhaps slightly larger than average.

Been thinking about the mudguards. It still has the original ESGE jobs, but the rear is damaged and glued together, and does not look very nice. I may trim them down to make shorty guards.
