I have a SIPP (self-invested personal pension) - One of the funds I invested in is a UK inflation-linked bond. I invested £800 2 years ago as I could see that inflation was likely to rise. So far my investment has dropped by over £250  I don't understand it either.
I never seem to make any money from my predictions. My most recent prediction ( a year ago) is that of house prices crashing, and I'm hoping my Daughter (as a first-time buyer) may benefit from being able to buy her first property at the market low.

Things weren't too bad up until April 2022, then inflation, the cost of living problems and Liz Trust hit the investment funds.

Be glad it’s only £250 down ;)

both mini ck`s have premium bonds bought by grandma whos been dead 4 years and we are having a right runaround getting them sorted as i have phoned them, wrote to them to tell them the situation and they still send a letter asking for her signature .
Jokers on occasion.

I got locked out of Premium Bond account once. Trying to sort was near impossible. The system (people operating ?) were all a nonsense. And keep telling me with great glee - how proud they were of the systems protection against fraud / hackers etc ?

Apart from in this instance it’s a customer trying to gain control of his own funds 🤦‍♂️

I got access to my mother's bonds by sending them a letter and a copy of the death certificate. Quite painless.

I got one for £500 this month, which I think is the biggest PB, and the biggest monthly total.

Presumably you need some evidence that you're the executor too?

Barnet,
I got £200 this month, 4x 25, and £100.
MrsP got £75
Our son got £50, and our daughter £25.
Quite a good month.
So far this year I've had £350.

A 100 and a 50 - first wins in ages. I said (within earshot of the echodot) that if I didn't get a win this month I'd be taking the money out of Premium Bonds - Is that a coincidence? I know the thing is listening (and absorbing) because of things which pop up on the computer after conversations.
