prematurely worn chainring

during cleaning this afternoon I noticed quite a bit of wear on my large chainring. Im quite surprised as Ive only done 620 miles on the bike!

Is this rate of wear normal? Or am I putting too much pressure on the pedals when changing gear? Or is it just a cheap item which isnt the best quality?

Are you thinking all the cogs should look the same else there must be wear? See new one below, I am not sure it looks that different to yours.

It's the same with the sprockets on your cassette - there's all sorts of weird things going on to encourage the chain to go where it's told, when it would be quite happy to stay put...
