NACA is "News, Current affairs and Politics".

My reading of that definition is that, for it to be NACA territory, it should be news or current affairs and with a political twist.
Otherwise, there are another 3 threads in the list of the 8 most recent threads which are also "news or current affairs" and would be banned. They are a thread about the death of Timothy West; a 9 year old cyclist being threatened with being pushed into an Edinburgh canal; and the Kirklees missing link. All being reported in the press and therefore "news"; but not political - although anybody could turn them political if they were that way inclined. At that point, our gallant admins would step in!

You can now drop off Royal Mail post at many Collectplus drop off points, I did it yesterday in the Esso petrol station on Reckleford in Yeovil. First time I had done it. This will clearly mean the money for taking in parcels will be spread about to many more places making some sites less viable. So now some post offices take in Evri in addition to Royal Mail and Collectplus are now taking Royal Mail in addition to Yodel etc although for the moment its not all collectplus sites. I print my royal mail labels at home and then just drop off at various sites. At the moment I'm mainly using Yodel (£2.69 for a up to 1kg parcel) and Royal Mail with the very occasional Evri parcel, 1 in 100 maybe as their pricing isn't very competitive at the moment I find.

Right.

Upon trying to post a Parcel a few days ago at the local Post office; I stated I’d like it posted cheapest possible method. After checking - the Lady serving me and with a Post Office badge on her blouse told me that would be with Evri.

However that works - it can’t be ‘right’……..

When Amazon was in it's infancy the warehouse by J13 M1 actually had Royal Mail staff working within it. I used to do a trailer change when I worked in the RM.
This was around the turn of the Millennium.

The one in Leyland (Lancashire) did that, huge old building so understandable why they'd closed it.

The replacement one shares it building not with Tesco, Co Op or WHSmith like I've seen but a pawn broker called Cash Generator lol

Otherwise known round our way as Crack Generator. 😂

Barnet,
Our crown post office in Barnet is on the list for closure.
It was refurbished 6 years back with 11 counters, bureau de change and a separate counter for business customers.
Now, only two of the counters are staffed and there are two self machines.
It is the only crown office within a 10 mile radius, all the others have already gone.
Whether a third party would have the finance to take on a large building with garages and offices out the back remains to be seen, but my guess is that they will be sold off for development and a sub post office hopefully would open in a local shop.

We had two post offices (now down to one) in the small town I live in. The one now converted to a er hum! Thai massage parlour  was I think they used to call a sub post office. It sold stuff like tins of beans, washing powder etc. I always got a whiff of fry ups when I went in the place. I remember going in one day and the bloke behind the counter appeared with what looked like a half eaten bacon and fried egg sandwich on a plate while chewing the other half, asking what I wanted. How totally unprofessional was that I ask!!🧐
