For around the £500 mark i highly reccommend the cannondale synapse sora. Its very confortable and it flies!

However my first bike since i came back to riding was a carrera valour (mountain bike) and it has given me 800 trouble free miles so far so dont be put off by the carrera brand or halfords

If you really don't know what you want, if you have a branch within striking distance, go to Evans with photo ID and a bank card and get some testrides of a few bikes that appeal. Thanks peeps just didn't want to go buying blind I'm a novice in bike buying.I've only ever bought rockrider mtb from decathlon no more than £200

And why would you need to shave your legs to wear cycling shorts? Do you when wearing normal shorts in the summer?
