I was looking for second hand but was thinking I might have to spend to get it up to scratch so might aswel buy new. I always think the worst always. Is there a certain code in cycle wear. What to and what not to wear don't want to look a twizat

No, wear what you find comfortable IMO.

I'm sure someone will be along to advocate cream-filled padded pants before long :laugh: but they're not for everyone.

Was thinking more full length things don't fancy taking mac3 to my legs. I love the thought of padded.

Shorts are fine.... you don't need any creams with the current shorts either. Wear trackie's over the top if you like. You do need cycling shorts with the pad as a minimum for that distance.

Just advice.... sore arse ain't much fun.
Far sorer with pad than without IMO but I know not everyone finds them the same.

My mind is really set on the carrera subway 2, but speaking with the missis she said I could push budget to 800, bit of a jump from 300 I know. (there the boss lets all not lie). Anymore ideas. Road/mtb flat bars

Lots of options the boardmans are ok aswel. I presume the dearer the bike the dearer the parts. Anymore names I could look at. cannondale boardman claud butler

If you really don't know what you want, if you have a branch within striking distance, go to Evans with photo ID and a bank card and get some testrides of a few bikes that appeal

And why would you need to shave your legs to wear cycling shorts? Do you when wearing normal shorts in the summer?
