Because of you I decided to fit a few studs at 1am this morning, before I knew it I had replaced 11 from the front wheel still 2 or 3 to do but my hand was getting numb from squeezing the pliers.

I know it's an old thread it veered off topic but just to say that I recently bought the BBB version of this from Chain Reaction and had the same experience.
It doesn't work - simples.
Either doesn't give a reading at all or gives a reading that would only make sense in PSI if I lowered the expected pressure by a fair bit and then divided by ten.
I'm amazed - I fairly recently bought a mini track pump from Edinburgh Bike Co-Op that cost hardly more than this and has a gauge included.
What's the techno world coming to eh? - in my car driving days those metal pencil tube affairs always seemed accurate and consistent enough - don't suppose you can get them for bikes?
Ha ha, mine has been relegated in the bike box ever since.
It was a 5 euro toy bought on a whim, not suitable for the purpose.
Anyhow, in the meantime I have graduated to measuring tyre pressure with my thumb
