When I got my last set of tyres I couldn't resist this, at the time it was on sale for 5 euros while I saw it on Amazon for about 24 pounds.
Schwalbe, you cannae go wrong, right?
Well, it seems you can, as I cannae get the silly thing to work. Either it gives no reading, or an inconsistent reading - surely rock hard tyres cannot be 19.3 ps? This across 4 sets of wheels.
Any tips? Bin the thing - oops, I meant recycle it
My truck pump's pressure gauge is faulty too, so cannot compare.
Schrader valves all round.
Cheers for the answers!

Can't help you with that one I'm afraid. But if you decide to replace it I can recommend the Topeak D2 Smart Head gauge.
Easy to use, accurate and works on Schrader and Presta.

I have a BBB version of the same unit. Have you unscrewed the brass presta adapter and removed the rubber insert before using it on schraeder valves?

Oh: I did unscrew the presta adapter, did not know about the rubber insert, thanks for that!
I have misplaced the gauge at the moment: when I find it I will post an update, thank you for the tip, Cubist.

I'm not so sure about the meaning of ping in this contest, but I clicked like anyway
Update @Cubist: found the gauge, removed the rubber insert, now the tool just deflates the tyre.
Put the rubber back in, can't get any reading.
Never mind, shall get another one at some point, thanks all for your input.

You simply press the end of the gauge against the end of the valve. Take the insert out and hold it on square, but fairly tight. There's a bit of a knack to it but you're nearly there

Nope: I'm still deflating. Trying again :pump:
