Male caller, converse using the names of Welsh villages instead of English.

Female caller, be very accommodating and friendly but gradually start talking dirty and asking intimate questions.

Why would you want to make a female feel uncomfortable like that but joke with a man about welsh town names? Seems very odd

I just don't answer calls from numbers my phone doesn't recognise. If it's genuine they can leave a message.

The problem with older folk is that they grew up in an era when people could generally be trusted, they don't like to cause offence, and as you age you become less able to discriminate between truth and lies.

It isn't joking with them, it is confusing them as English is never their first language and it can take them a while to realise you are talking bollocks.

As for making female scammers feel uncomfortable, as they would happily empty my bank account and max out my credit cards leaving me bankrupt they can feel as uncomfortable as they like. They are scum.

Nowadays there's not much point in that, as the number that comes up on Caller Display is typically spoofed.
True but by notifying the Range Holder they can then ask that Ofcom to ask other Communication Providers to block the numbers, unless 'something' is done 'nothing; will happen

I'd be willing to bet that most of the cold callers don't even know their bosses are scammers, they have just been given a script to follow and told to pass on any likely-sounding victims to the real scammer.

I appreciate what you're saying but "gradually start talking dirty and asking intimate questions" is a bit odd.

You normally only get that when you make the calls to those 0990 numbers, Oops did I say that out loud,

A guy I used to know (responding to a cold caller rather than a scammer) that whilst he didn't need double glazing right at that moment he was pleased to get the call and asked the caller if he needed any plastering done. "are you taking the piss?" "no, but I'm a plasterer and thought since you're on the phone it was worth asking. Could you ask your colleagues if any of them need any plastering done" Quite funny, and to be fair not an unreasonable thing to ask.

A dive-boat skipper I know managed to sell a diving holiday during help desk support call to the company who ran his website which is quite impressive.
