Update: After riding home in a downpour, the following morning the rear hub sounded awful especially when freewheeling [like a piece of plastic was stuck in the spokes). i lost all drive when pedalling, then it came back , then lost it again...all the way to work and back.
theres plently of rusty-coloured residue around the hub...i guess what little lube was on the pawls had been flushed out with rainwater.
i could apply more wd40/oil to get the bike rideable again but i dont know how long that will last for.
is it easy to replace a freehub? instructions?
