I've no idea where these actually come from. Usually on e-Bay, they'll say what the country of origin is. Here, it just says the item is in San Jose, California. Lot of transport and warehousing goes on there, as well as Silicon Valley stuff. And e-Bay.

Product Features

  • Includes one Right and one Left Pedal Extender
  • Use this set with any 9/16" threaded pedals to extend the pedal position outward by 21mm (0.825")
  • Prevents knee strain and rubbing against the rear tire/frame for those with a naturally wide stance
  • CNC machined from solid billet Chrome-moly steel
  • Right and Left extenders are easily identifiable with "R" and "L" markings

This listing includes one set (right and left) of bicycle pedal extenders that can be used with your bike pedals to extend the position of the pedals outward by 21mm (0.825"). For those bike riders with a naturally wide stance this product is essential to prevent knee strain and rubbing against the rear tire/frame. The set includes a right and left handed set of pedal extenders that can only be used on cranks with 9/16" thread (most common). All pedal extender sets are made from hardened billet chrome-moly steel and coated with black oxide coating for protection. Right and Left extenders are easily identifiable with "R" and "L" markings. Remember: Right extenders must be tightened clockwise and left extenders must be tightened counter-clockwise.
Thank you-these are the units I bought.

Thanks for the info ,have just ordered a set.

The "male" spigot is 14mm in diameter.
The "female" part is 21mm long, with a diameter of 22mm. As stated, the shoulders between the two are square-not tapered or radiused.
Thank you

So long as it is tight, and it is chrome-moly as the advert suggests (I ran the test on the weakest of the chrome moly steels (4130 Annealed)), and they're free from manufacturing defects Then it will only fail at 4000N, equivalent of hanging 400kg off a single pedal! Even then, it won't snap, but that's when it will permanently deform.

I'd say your safe to use them, though I do take no responsibility should you die

Fitted them to my Focus. Had no trouble and certainly beneficial to my feet!! When my tourer is up and running I shall fit a pair on that.

SJS cycles sell a range - even Titanium extenders at a cost! All look to be of a similar design. I'm looking for a set as I have a pointy out right foot which causes my heel to clip the chain stay on y tandem. If I keep my foot straight it plays my knee up. Planning on trying a cheap set 1st to see how I get on.
