At nearly 69, I walked briskly up a steep path on a large Scottish hill yesterday, barely able to keep up with a 77 year old in our party. She hopes to come mountain biking with us on a 3-4 hour ride later in the week! Why does the myth persist that when someone reaches a certain age they should sit in a chair and wait to die. Screw that! If you want to do it, go for it. Live life!
Unless your Doctor tells you to have more sense, ignore the nay sayers!
I rode End to End for the first time when I was 75 with a mate who was two years younger. We were camping and completely unsupported. Admittedly we took 29 days to do it but I make no apoligies for that. My advice to older cyclists wanting to do this ride for the first time is to know your limitations and plan your trip accordingly, but don't be put off or you will regret it.

Well given @ayseven (by the way) has shared their success, did you ride this summer with 'Pedal Britain'?

Seems like a bargain for two weeks full board plus luggage transport plus support TBH.
Has the poster signed up?
It's supported so takes the luggage out of the equation, but £2k !
