I've ridden with some very fit people in their 60s and 70s.

I'll be 57 next year and once I've got over my current illness, I have every hope of getting fitter than I've ever been before. I'd never taken 'training' very seriously in the past but I still managed to get very fit a couple of times by just plugging away at it.

The shock I got this summer has given me the kick up the arse that I needed to really find out what I can do!

Theres a guy in my club who is eighty something and does 30 plus miles rides without fuss. Not very fast but some younger riders are sweating more than him.

Wish I was 60 again. I don't care what anyone says, age does eventually win the battle. I can prove that. Visit any graveyard!

Yes the only one on the planet thats truly unbeatable, old father time, he gets us all in the end.

I'm 61 and I'm still going strong, starting to slow a bit, but still going strong.

I intend to be faster than I ever was - starting next year! (Subject to post-illness heart, lungs and legs being in full working order.)

I've been on the turbo getting ready for this   ^_^
