I'd put this down as a racing incident, the convoy in P-R is chaos and it's a miracle this kind of thing doesn't happen more. Take a listen to latest Watts Occurring to get an inside view from Luke Rowe who was driving one of the Decathlon cars

I saw several cars with bumpers hanging off at the Harrogate world champs and saw saw several bumps myself at beckwithshaw corner!

I agree - but IN A RACE the mechanics are in a hurry. They are part of the race i.e. the slower they move, the later their rider finishes.
Point isn't really that valid, is it, considering the riders in a race are in much more of a hurry than any mechanic? It's 100% the mechanics fault. The rider is supposed to ride the course at full speed.

Luke Rowe, of course, has a certain amount of expertise in taking riders down in Paris Roubaix....

Oldish news but I've just read that Sigrid Ytterhus Haugset (Coop-Repsol) rode the lat 58km of P-R Femmes with what was later diagnosed as a broken hip

In other injury news I fell down a drainage ditch at a pee stop on the FNRttC to Shoreham. I heroically continued. Ive got a big bruise on my shin now. Where's my medal?
