Because then sport will just become a competition between pharaceutical (and soon, genetics) companies, and not just legitimate organisations but organised crime which will compete to get the latest unlicensed products, not between people. Because athletes will not just all use the same drugs, but always the latest, least tested ones that might given them that 'edge' over the others. Because is is a route to sport as irretrevably harmful to athletes and will result in increased deaths and serious long-term chronic health conditions.
