Just once in a while, you hear a story that gives you the shivers...
Good old friends of ours lost their son exactly one year ago today. He'd abused himself TBH, black sheep of the family, but a doting father in the best way he could, given his tempestuous nature. When he died, it was in the night, they last heard him a 01.30, he was found dead in bed some hours later, heart attack.

Today, exactly one year later, at 02.00...the alarm went off on the clock that was in his room...an alarm that hasnt been used since his death.
His mum, in the oddest way wasnt upset (I dont know how I'd react, it's a bit freaky)..she's kinda happy, happy he made his presence known, he's with them.

I dont believe in ghosts etc...but that is freaky.

Very odd, but if it brings comfort to his mum it doesn't matter how odd it is.

totally freeky and try explaining that
Here is my explanation.
Someone was in the bedroom last night, wanting to be close to their son, remembering him, and whilst handling various objects in the room they accidentally knocked the alarm clock on.
Either that, or ghosts.

Or the mother, wanting to commemorate his death, set the alarm clock to the time of his demise. (While I do believe in prophetic dreams, I don't believe in ghosts.)

One should never buy cheap crap: an alarm clock that only works once a year is cheap crap, not only that it didn't wake the guy.:becool:

Hmm,sounds familiar, as a family we get regular (mischievous & humorous) reminders from my daughter's deceased boyfriend that he is still amongst us. I was hugely sceptical at first, but the "coincidences" have been far too numerous & significant to ignore!! :-)

After my grandad passed away I went home to attend the funeral (was living near London at the time).
He had a small brass clock that used to sit on his bedside cabinet. It was very unusual, and knowing how much I liked it, it was gifted to me.
My mum gave it to me, looking as white as a sheet.
She showed me it and it had stopped at the time of his death.

When my mum passed away, we were all gathering at the family home to leave for the funeral.
There were several ladies present, so a small queue formed for the bathroom.
We waited and waited for the person in there to come out. The cars arrived and we really had to leave.
No-one liked to bang on the door and shout but we rattled the handle and told the person in there that we had to leave.
No reply.
Thinking the worst, my brother put his shoulder to the door and managed to get in.
There was no-one in there!

We like to think it was mum having a last laugh!

Whatever you believe, it was very strange!

My mum used to say to me that at her funeral one of the songs she'd like played was Another one bites the dust by Queen! (She wanted to be cremated!)

My mum had a wicked sense of humour and liked joking around with people I remember her telling me about when she was a nurse she had to supervise student nurses and she once sent a student nurse off to get a box of Fallopian tubes

When I lost my mum 6 years ago and had to plan her funeral I was asked what music she or I wanted played and I thought back to our conversation and said what her choices were. I was a little concerned what other people might think (I wasn't bothered I thought it was great) I didn't want to upset anyone, but the vicar taking the service said if people are offended by my mum's choice of music then they never knew my mum properly!

Any way the day of the funeral the cars pull up outside my house and the funeral director comes up to me and said "you know your mum's music?" "Well it got played by mistake at a 93 year olds funeral this morning!" I looked at my cousin stood next to me and burst out laughing!! We both said that it was my mum playing one last trick!! (I know deep down it was just a mistake but it sometimes makes me feel better to think it was mum^_^)

My parents were married for 61 years. I was sitting with my mum at my dad's funeral on a grim, gloomy, wet and windy November afternoon when a powerful gust of wind slammed the door shut. The noise reverberated through the church. My mum nudged me, and whispered ... "Trust your father to go out with a bang!"
