I'm not quite sure what happened there.
My laptop keyboard is dying (no QSDZXC\, caps lock, Alt or left Ctrl keys), so I'm using a wireless keyboard on a magazine on top, which may have been pressing the laptop A-key underneath.

Can I ask a really stupid question? When you buy clipless pedals, do they come with the cleats (to fit to the shoes) or do you buy those separately? I have a pair of the Aldi cycling shoes, so far unused, which have two recessed bolts in the sole, on a slidey sort of plate. I am considering getting a pair of Shimano PD-A350 pedals, so I can use the Aldi or normal shoes. Sorry to have to ask - for me, quick buckles on toe-straps are new tech

Do you mean 'The ebay ones don't, so it is worth checking'?

No there are are some OEM ones that exclude cleats. However, when buying anything on ebay I would double and triple check everything. Personally I would not buy pedals/cleats second hand.

Thanks chaps, a pair of PD-A350 is now on order. The pic on the website clearly showed cleats in the package, so I'm happy with that. And I possess Loctite.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Shimano pedals always come with cleats and fixings.
So do Look.
However, beware, sometimes new pedals are sold on ebay without cleats. Rather like inkjet printers, when a new printer can be only a few pounds more than the replacement ink cartridges, sometimes it almost makes more economic sense to buy brand new pedals with the cleats included, than to buy new cleats alone. A ridiculous state of affairs. Given the high price of cleats (Look Keos rrp £19.99!), it is obviously much more profitable for the ebay seller to sell the cleats and pedals separately.

If you lose one of those you deserve the HOP home.
FTFY!

For the last 8 years I have been putting new cleats on every 9 months or so, the biggest problem is undoing the old bolts.
Wore one pair of cleat so much that the front edge was razor thin and started giving issues clipping in/out (this took many years to achieve as I don't put my feet down much). I have to agree that getting the old bolts out can be tricky, especially when they have been in as long as mine tend to be. The trick is to make sure to dig out every last bit of muck from the bolt head and then tap in a quality hex bit with a hammer. Don't be tempted to use an Allen key as these are often worn or low quality and will round of the recess making removal almost impossible.
Never mind using Loctite to keep the bolts in, I use copper grease on mine so I might stand a chance of removing them after several years abuse and weather.
