What is sad is that so many of the original 3 door ones had Discovery bodies built on the chassis and fitted with engines from a Toyota HiLux or something. It was a very common thing to do in this country as the chassis was old enough to qualify for cheap rate vintage tax and insurance and was test exempt so people who wanted a modern Discovery but didn't want to pay the tax on a 2.5 L engine bent the rules.

A "Classic" Range Rover Vogue. I think those wheels might belong to a Discovery.

Surprising how small they seem compared to today's bloated tanks. Also, shockingly poor panel gaps on what was an upmarket and pricey motorcar.

The last Mk1 range rovers were badged as a “classic” and came with those wheels and the big bumpers, so it is 100% original

Today, people associate Austin with the cheaper end of the market with things like the A35, Mini, Metro, Allegro, etc.

They were originally a pretty prestigious manufacturer. The 7 represented a new departure for them into the cheap end and it was an effort to save the company at the time as they were in financial difficulties.
