DON'T keep trying with THAT saddle. Bikes come with a standard man's saddle, and even if your bike is women's specific the manufacturers have not yet followed this concept through to the saddle. Ask the shop to measure your sit bones... Anywhere that sell Bontraguer or Specialized saddles can do this. They will sit you on a pad which will show dents where your pointy bits at the bottom of your pelvis are. Those are your sit bones and they will give you the right size saddle so that you are sitting on them. I do this with all new bikes and it is the difference between heaven and hell.

Some thought this was a bad idea but after using it for some time now i must say its very good.
Of course what suites one may not suite another but for me it has made cycling very enjoyable. :okay:

@buggi the Silique comes with a bontrager WSD saddle. They actually work well for me as a brand, unlike specialized for example. But they come in 3 widths and the one supplied may not be the right width for the OP so back to the shop she should go

Conversely Mrs les tried a trek silque at the bike show last week and fell in love with both the bike and the saddle.....

Described it as the comfiest bike/ saddle she had ever ridden.

She will have to settle for the saddle atm though......

I've put an Affinity RL on my Genesis to replace the specialized oura that I failed to get on with even after 1500 miles

Jannie thought she managed ok with her Bontrager saddle until I changed it for my Koga saddle after I bought my charge spoon. She thinks the Koga saddle is much better than the Bontrager.

In my opinion the only thing Bontrager saddles are good for is hammering nails.

Trek Silque is a gorgeous looking bike.
When I got my road bike I bought what looked like the perfect saddle but it was torture.
Took it back to the shop and they measured my sit bones and advised on a narrower saddle of 130, I'd been on a 143.
What a difference!
You'll get there.
Good luck.

Oh yes!! Especially when it comes to saddles. Just take Brooks saddles, you could write a book about them. It all comes down to if you have a Brooks bum or not. Luckily I have. I think saddles are actually more personal than bikes.

My favourite saddle (thus far) is the Fizik Aliante on the best roadie. I liked it so much that I bought another for the winter bike, but one that had a pressure relief channel down the centre.

I find it less comfortable. Some people love the channelled saddles, some can't stand them.

I am also getting on very well with a Brooks Cambium that is on the commuter CX.

It's a lovely bike. Light. Quick (but maybe that's the motivational saddle). Can a bike be sexy? Ok sexy too. I do love it.

I'm going to see mr bike shop man tomorrow. He did say he'd swap it if it was too painful. It made me cry. That's too painful imho!!! They've been ever so good with me so far so I see no reason why this will be any different tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the arseometer!

Thanks good people.

Is the saddle level or pointed marginally down, if nose up at all it could be an issue

It looks straight... but maybe the back is a tiny bit higher than the front. He spent ages setting it up as best he could. Like I said i have a back injury which makes it hard for me to say which bit hurts...hence why he said to have a go for a while

I'll get it swapped tomorrow and hopefully I will be able to go more than 4 miles before actual girlie tears!
