In Surrey where I was born, London where I lived for many years and the west of England where I am now, this is a very popular football team.

In Manchester, many people are still unsure of the meaning (or purpose) of MUFC and have a deep disdain for the colour red.

In truth, the only sporting initials worth anything are AFC. This is not a matter of opinion. It is a fact, although sadly not one supported by the weight of certain trophy cabinets...

Now back to cycling....

The one that got me for ages was YMMV. Then I found it stands for Your Milage May Vary - which left me not much the wiser... I think it means roughly "this is my experience with this product or whatever but you may have different results/experiences".

HTFU is a non-gender-specific version of MTFU.

I must admit, I don't see the point in replacing F, U, C and K with four asterisks. I don't know about you, but my brain automatically reads "****" as, well, the word it's replacing. Leaving me wondering how long it will be before "****" is a swear word in its own right and therefore subject to censorship.:biggrin:

Indeed one of my guilty pleasures in the xfactor. One of the judges is in the habit of saying stuff like "no freakin way" etc which to me means "no ****in way". It seems acceptable on prime time tv, the mind truly freakin boggles.

Yes, I dont know what they are either.

Im not sure if you 2 are serious or just poking the dog with a stick but ;
BSO = bike shaped object.
A term used by bike snobs to describe people on cheap bikes that dont meet their standards.
(edit - also used by non bike snobs but not with the same unpleasant implications , like black people using the n word)
