It’s a shame the throwing events always seem to let her down slightly. She’s a good runner but I fear it’s too much to make up.

That’s the beauty of multi eventing. But 8 seconds in 800m is probably too much.
Her long jump let her down this morning.
But if she can get silver, it still fantastic.

Lyles competes with Covid. OK. fair enough if the rules allow (maybe). But don't you then use some common sense??

The implication is that he competed knowing he had Covid, with the knock-on implications of how that could impact other athletes, staff, spectators and so on. Peaty competed with Covid but didn't know it until afterwards.

There were riders in the Tour who rode on having tested positive Covid (Thomas?) and some who withdrew with Covid (Morkov, Pidcock, Kuss ...)

Surfing is really not a spectator sport either. Apart from being 10,000 miles away, the action happens some way offshore and they sit watching the waves for most of the time. Then when they catch a wave it's over in a few seconds.

On the other hand the speed climbing, which is probably the shortest event on the schedule, is done in under 5 seconds for men and around 6 seconds for women, but it is quite compelling.

I watched about 5 mins of the surfing and gave up. It was just people bobbing in the water and doing diddly squat.

All the climbing events have been fabby to watch though. I've thoroughly enjoyed that.

Running up wall with the same arrangement of holds as all the other events they've been to interesting? Hmm I your definition of interesting is different to mine.

Kite surfing race was interesting, more so than the sailing events. I found the surfing to be slow at times while they were waiting for waves to go on but when they went it wasn't bad. Not the most interesting.

Then there's cycling around the track over and over again. Taking it one every few rounds, that got a bit boring too. I enjoyed tae kwon do a lot but others here didn't.

Horsey stuff was definitely dull. Shooting too. I think. That's the Olympics for you. Some sports you enjoy and a lot your don't.

I am currently watching what I can only assume is Olympic level break-dancing. While I can let that fact that this is considered an Olympic discipline slide, I swear I saw better efforts on Blue Peter back in the day.
