Olympic Lotus 108

Hi there.
I am trying to find out some information for a friend.
She has an original 1992 Olymipic Lotus 108. Purchased in 1992 it's immaculate and only used a few times back in the early 90's. It's been boxed away safely ever since.
What we are trying to establish first is what the value of such a bike would be now, and any advise as to the best ways to go about selling it should she decide to do so.

I thought I would ask you guys if you have any thoughts

It's a lovely piece of history, but how you ascertain it's value I know not. Does it have any more provenance - ownership, ridden by, race wins etc?

If it's a 108, and not a 110, definitely worth a few bob- only fifteen were built including all the replicas.

Yes it's a 108. She also has a 110 sat next to it as bought them as a pair

Value is impossible to judge, as to a collector this might be highly desirable. And if two collectors both want it, then its actual value is meaningless as it then turns into a bidding war. I would go the auction route - and I don't mean ebay.

I have no evidence or experience of this, but in an off the top of my head scientific estimate, I would suggest a specialist auction with use of all social media to create a buzz & £20k+ minimum *each* if your friend is to sell both.

It would be very interesting to find out.

Sounds like the stuff of dreams to me. I cant help but be a little suspicious if I'm honest. Surely someone who bought a "pair" would have a better idea of their value than most.

If they don't then you have to ask the question "what were they thinking" ....and, more importantly..."How?"
