Its seems that not many noob miles being posted today.
So...
Who is having a couple of rest days before the May Massive (strava challenge) and how far do you think you'll get in May?

I am aiming for at least 500km

Strong winds here coincided nicely with my planned couple of days of rest after the last challenge. Looking like lighter winds tomorrow so will probably try and get a few miles in. Not sure about doing another challenge though. Getting a bit fed up of counting miles.

I'm not a noob but I've just had a rest weekend, I'd pedalled three Sunday rides in a row plus I'd been commuting four days a week, my legs were getting weary, so I had three days off the bike, spent some time with my family, caught up with the chores and did some jobs that wanted doing, returned to commuting this morning much refreshed, theres a charity ride on Sunday I'm planning on doing, the long route, 75 miles then commuting and a couple of Sunday rides before another rest weekend, weather permitting.

Well, got 36 miles in this morning after my two rest days and can't say it felt any easier. Sometimes wonder if you are better just keeping going. :bicycle:

Would also love to ride 100 miles a week but work commitments might get in the way...gonna have a bloody good go anyway though!!!

not a noob here either, just had 2 days off the bike as a rest, back on it today and more exhausted than I was before the rest days!.
May's target is 800-1,000 km which should be doable given March was 864km and April currently at 828km with more to follow this evening (commute). My OH want's a 3 day tour this weekend & BH so that should add to the mileage, so that should start May off with a couple of hundred km's if it actually happens.

Are you entering May's Strava Challenge Emma or is this a personal target? On one hand, I find the challenges can make you a bit obsessive about getting miles in but on the other hand, they can be an incentive to get out too. Suppose I should enter this one and just see how it goes, after saying I wasn't going to bother with them again!

I have entered it, but will just continue with the mad distances I am doing at the moment without change... my mum & step-father are going to continue to need assistance for as long as I can manage it, however twice a week is as much as I can manage on top of everything else (college twice a week and physio once a week). My step-father is now out of hospital and slightly mobile but has to go back in once a day every day for IV antibiotics. I've just done 11 consecutive day's cycling and with my Addison's it is a touch too much at times. I had been considering joining the local club, but at the moment, I can't see how I have enough hours in the day! I'm busier now than when I had a job  which at some point I am going to need to consider sorting out (but not until my MRI scan results come through).

In april I did 450 miles. I am going for the strava challenge, my aim is for 500 miles, but more or less working every day in may(be mad to turn overtime down) so will have a bit extra to spend on the bike in june.
I will cycle to work the longer way round and do a few extra miles on the way home.
