Polar Bears can swim hundreds of miles. One was once recorded as having swam 400 miles across open water to reach land. So don't get upset when you see a picture of one standing on a small ice floe.

There must be other ways to detect them. I mean, if you excite a polar bear, surely it's going to emit something as it returns to its ground state.

I didn't know walnut's had a brain at all, but I doubt anyone will disagree that walnuts are not that intelligent.
