The Faroe Islands were originally known as the "Herring Archipelago", but were renamed in honour of "Faroe" Rameses II, whose famed love of rollmops, and his import of thousands of barrels through Alexandria brought fame and prosperity to the islands.

Sadly the rollmop industry of the Pharaoh Islands collapsed after an apprentice, being one scale short of a fillet, sent the Faroe something for domestic maintenance. The Faroe flounced off and said he would rather eat camel doo and ceremonially tried a camel nugget, which littered the floor everywhere.

This sleight of hand was revived by the Greek philosophers, most of whom where in fact philosophesses, but sporting fake bushy beards.
They also sometimes took female animals as their names, most famously "Dogess", later corrupted "Diogenes". Apparently quite a looker once the facial hair was pulled away, the old master of her by Langetti caused a scandal, and he was later forced to overpaint her breasts under threat of torture.
