"Kurisumasu ni wa kentakkii!"—which roughly translates into "Kentucky for Christmas!"—was an incredibly successful marketing campaign that ran in Japan in 1974. Ever since, droves of Japanese people place orders for the Christmas chicken dinner, which includes bougie accoutrements such as cake and champagne.

While sales of KFC might peak on Christmas Eve, the nation is obsessed with fried chicken year round.

Also, the losing streak of the Hanshin Tigers, a Japanese baseball team, was attributed to a curse associated with fans throwing a Colonel statue in the river.

Dick Van Dyke looks exactly the same as he did in 1964. Proof that he's found a cure for ageing.

That or Mary Poppins worked her magic on him.

When the original Mary Poppins was being cast, the lead male role was written with John “The Duke” Wayne in mind. However, the casting agency misread the memo and offered the role to Dick van Duke instead.

Julie Andrews starred as the title character in "Mary Poppins," with Dick Van Dyke as the chimney sweep Bert (below). But Van Dyke also starred, in heavy makeup, as bank chairman Mr. Dawes Senior. That character is listed in the credits as being played by "Nackvid Keyd," an anagram for "Dick Van Dyke."
