Glasgow Central station is so named because at the time of construction it was precisely in the centre of the city.

Victorian engineers verified this by cutting round the city boundary and balancing the whole city on a small concrete plinth.

The balance point was found to be near the entrance to platform 7.

Cracking a solo.
He also foiled a nazi plot whilst faking his way into the navy.
And invented a low fat grilling machine.

Printer ink currently goes for about USD $9,600 per gallon. At the current rate in the United States, you could by over 2,500 gallons of gasoline for the same price.

In 1987 some council workers in Liverpool were sent to a specific road to dig a hole.....which they did.
Next day their boss realised he had sent them to the wrong road so he issued fresh instructions. They were to dig up that hole and take it to the correct road.
They duly dug up that hole, lifted it onto the wagon and were taking it to the correct road. Unfortunately, on the way there the hole fell off the wagon and rolled down the hill.
The workers decided to reverse the wagon to the hole in order to catch it. Sadly......the driver failed to stop in time and the wagon with 3 workers fell into the hole.
Tragically they were never seen again.

Although it’s impossible know precisely how many traffic cones are currently in use, it is thought that there are roughly 1.3 million traffic cones in the UK and roughly 140 million worldwide.

Unlike its Glasgow Namesake, Grand Central station in New York is not in the geographical centre of Manhattan. Its name comes from the fact that early white settlers bought the land from the native americans for the equivalent of a grand.

Additionally, there is a grand piano in the concourse, which was once played by Liberace.

Whilst not as bad as the last train to San Fernando

If you want to travel to Denton the 10.13 on Fridays from Stockport to Stalybridge is definitely the train to catch.

In fact you have no choice: the so-called Denton Flyer is the only train that will stop at the station in either direction (and only if someone requests it).

Miss this and you’ve got a 168-hour wait for the next.

And the chances are you'll walk alone: Denton sees fewer than 20 customers a year.

Despite this it’s beautifully maintained by volunteers so don’t forget to bring your own tumbleweed.

Everton football club also fell down said hole in the mid 90s shortly after winning the FA cup, they also haven't been seen since.
Liverpool council were not available to comment

Native Americans invented the horse following an idea from a Spanish settler

In Alaska it is illegal to be drunk… in a bar.

State laws state, a person who is already drunk may not “knowingly” enter a bar to drink more, or remain in the bar that got them drunk in the first place.
