Chilli Peppers never used to be red hot. They used to be quite mild, but the band called themselves the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to be ironic, like calling a short guy Lofty.

The public started clamouring for chilli peppers that were red hot, and chilli breeders created strains to meed public demand.

The Gently Mild Chilli Peppers were a 70’s middle of the road band. While they originally recorded self-composed vocal harmony material, they only achieved commercial success once they started recording insipid cover versions of current chart hits for those “Top of the Pops” albums that you used to get in Woolworths.

Except for the pilot,
The pilot for the show aired on an episode of Police Story (1973) titled "The Gamble". However, Angie Dickinson's character's name in that episode was Lisa Beaumont, and Bert Convy played the role of her commanding officer. Convy was later replaced by Earl Holliman.

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel famously split up after the release of the “Bridge Over Troubled Water” album. They cited musical and personal differences as the reason behind the split-up, but in reality it was because Simon was becoming increasingly frustrated in his attempts to get Garfunkel to comb his hair before they went on telly.
