Contrary to the popularly held belief, avalanches can not be triggered by noise. The US did experiments in the 1950s to see if it would be possible to weaponise avalanches. Even flying jet aircraft over key areas at high speed and low altitude, which created a significant over pressure of several PSI, failed to trigger a single avalanche.

St Georges hall in Liverpool was the world's first air-conditioned building - which is strange given that the temperature never gets above "damp and morbid" there for 47/50ths of the year.

Canada Dock, in Liverpool again, was the most heavily bombed place in the UK during the second world war. It is thought that Hitler particularly disliked the Canadian Prime minister because his name was Lyon King, but was unable to get his bombers to fly all the way to bomb Canada, so resorted to bombing the dock instead. Hitler always disliked animated films

Apart from their sickly brand of wholesome middle of the road pop, the Bachelors will be remembered for inventing Cup-A-Soup.
Just you remember.....for every drop of rain that falls a baby cries.
Or a flower grows...or something.

Home of the earliest recorded crop circle.

The Mowing Devil Crop Circle, 1678

The tale tells of a farmer who, refusing to pay the price demanded by a labourer to mow his field, swore that he would rather that the Devil mowed it instead. That night his field appeared to be in flame. The next morning, the field was found to be perfectly mowed.
