what ever the female version is, i am suffering  now that i am going further and longer rides i think i need to save up for some decent padded shorts. My 14 euro decathalon ones have been fine but i think 4 or 5 hours in the saddle is a bit much to expect:headshake:

At the risk of telling you the blindingly obvious, check the bike set-up first. What is acceptable for an hour may not do for five hours, padded shorts or not.

Decathlon stuff isn't bad, but it's always going to be better spending a bit more if you spend a fair amount of time in the saddle.

ps: saddle level or tilted?
level xxx I think bike is all set up correctly, i followed the advice given by forum members after i posted a pic of bike, will have to start saving !!

I am having this problem too. Have a womens specific saddle but after an hour things start to get extremely uncomfortable...how can I put this delicately...in the front of the front regions. Am seriously considering stuffing a cushion down my shorts!!!:eek:

Make sure your weight is on your sit bones and not any further forward, too.
(I'm female, and have had Ebony Willow's problem but just once, a long time ago, and can't remember what I did to fix it. It is horribly painful, I agree. Incidentally, I think it is caused by pressure, so trying to put more padding there isn't the way to try and solve it.)

Specialized dolce saddle and padded shorts or 3/4s but can still can a bit of numb curtains on longer rides.

Funnily enough, I get more problems around the *cough* ring piece area, whenever I change from summer to winter or vice-versa. The padding in the winter enduras is a lot thicker - that's the only explanation I have anyway.

Is 'women specific' padded gear any better as I have always only worn men's??
