Is it possible to re-dish the wheel enough? Depending on the BB axle length I'd guess you'd be looking at 20mm or 30mm, maybe more, by the time you'd moved the spacers to get a good chainline?

Not saying you can't, but interested to know what the practical limits of re-dishing are, assuming you're using the original spokes and not re-building the wheel?

Depending on your chainline up front, yes it should be possible. For example if you are using the outer ring of an old triple chainset then you will have more of an issue than if you are using a dedicated SS chainset, or an old double with the large ring taken off. The right sized BB will also be fairly important.

For a threaded hub you can just put a regular fixed sprocket on, then back it up with a locknut (not the l/h threaded locknuts sold for "proper" fixed - a locknut off an old loose bearing BB is perfect) Get the sprocket on tighter than a tight thing, the locknut the same.
This arrangement is not called "suicide hub" for nothing..... but I've been using it quite happily for ages.
Chainline: get it as far inboard at the front as you can without fouling the chainstay. This reduces the amount of mucking about with spacers and redishing you have to do at the back to a minimum.
My chainset is an old double, on which the chainring bolts bottomed out when I took the outer ring off, the space is made by some el cheapo B&Q washers that I filed down to fit !
Amazing what you can bodge if you don't want to spend the silly prices at those London fixed specialist shops...
