Not worth it, or am I wrong

Wandering through our Halfords the other day I saw this Boardman Sport 2014:

And I thought, although I don't want a road bike I could buy this and get it into riding condition. I've got my son's discarded Tesco special into riding condition, so I have some experience.

But then I started to look at what I'd need to buy and then it doesn't look as good.

It has no saddle
no seat post (although I do have one)
no front wheel
no front brake
no pedals.

Which seems to be approaching the cost of the full bike.

But what do you guys think.

You could buy a set of Shimano R501's and pick up the rest from the clearance bin in your LBS for a few bob but it all depends on the discount on the frame.

Saddle - £10-ish
Front wheel - £20
Front brake - £10
Pedals - you'd buy anyway

Depending on the cost, if it's under £150 I'd buy it.

Only Halfords would do this as any LBS would sort this in 15 minutes and sell the bike ready to ride. But the HH Halfords staff I guess have no incentive so to do, and/or maybe they'd prefer to sell a 2015 model. Bargain for you and whomever you sell it on or give to. I'd get there quick in the morning before the other Hertfordshire CC chapel members beat you to it.

I wouldn't have been able to resist and wouldn't have left the store empty handed, its a bargain at that price.
EBay is awash with Boardman bits as people upgrade so you could even replace the missing bits with the correct parts.
