21st at a first go, that's really OK, now you start analysing where a few seconds can be saved, work on things a bit, and top 10 begins to look possible, well done.

That's a good performance and must have given you the incentive to try doing some more in the future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys. We're going to give it another go next year and we're definitely going to be faster. I think our average speed was 29.6 mph, so just a smidge under the magical 30 but there was quite a headwind to contend with for half of the race and I think that it's going into the headwind where we could have been stronger. I reckon if we were to race the exact same team and same conditions tomorrow then we could go a good bit quicker, so that's a big motivator for next year. Also, we learned that we all have different strengths and recovery times etc. Some folk can do long steady turns and others do short faster rides that pull up the average, and can recover quickly, it's just trying to marry them all together that counts.

The final turn for the last leg was brilliant, a huge tailwind was pushing us along and everyone was coming through strong, with wheels singing across the warm flat road. We had a lead out motorbike, our support car behind us and a van which was travelling alongside, filming and taking pics the whole time, so it felt that we had to give it a good shot.
