Bit of a strange request, but I'm after a pair of road shoes but without the mesh as I want to use them with thermal socks for the winter months..
Two reasons..
One .. its aways handy to have a spare pair of shoes.
Two.. overshoes are dear and I'm not sure on the fitting of overshoes, they look awkward..

when I buy new shoes I get the old ones and rub clear silicone sealant into the mesh. It's almost invisible and gives them a new lease of life and waterproof and wind proof foul weather gear.

any recommendations of shoes that are wide fitting...i got R077S shimano (42) i suffer from cold feet and hands i wear thick thermals but my its really tight therefore restricting my blood flow....

was looking at sidis but not sure

Stick your foot in a plastic bag ( sandwich bag, or freezer bag is ideal ) then put your shoe on... keeps you warm and the wind out

+1 I use these same boots myself. I've had them a few years now and they are excellent

Not cheap but they will last, and if you have sensible sized feet, (unlike my 13's!), you'll have a better chance of picking some up second hand.

I have the R087s in wide fit and wear two pair of socks and still have room, what size are you usually as the 87s are small made length wise.

I would say size 43 in the R087s should be ok , Im UK 9 n half but im in shimano size 46 which according to Hellfrauds is UK size 12
45 would fit me but not with two pair of socks.

I going to try the plastic bag method to keep my feet warm if the gaffer tape dont work.. that all or course if my delivery come with my pedals..
Oh I did get some Shimano 087s by the way.. as a winter shoe.
