Go back and saw or grind the end of those guard stays. Chopped ends are razor sharp and in an accident can poke through the caps and slash you open like a knife. Cut them short and blunt for safety!

Good advice, I never thought of that. I'll get my file out later.

I certainly did. I bought a complete cable set from Jagwire to avoid any mistakes. As a complete amateur at this, I had no idea that the brake and gear cables and outers would be different. Good tip, thanks.
