No for/aft adjustment for bike saddle.

The clamp looks like it should slide back and forth along the arc where the clamp attaches to the post, thereby tilting the saddle. As you can probably guess, I find that style of clamp rather fiddly to tighten while holding it level and don't really like them.

Will I be able to change the clamp for one with better methods of adjustment, or would I have to change the complete saddle? (I`m asking this assuming that clmps are available to buy without saddle).

The clamp looks like part of the seatpost. I'd try to get the one supplied with the bike to work if at all possible... I'm just being a retro grouch ;)

I have got one but never used it. Like you I found it a real pain and just gave up and slung it in the spares box.

If my clamp is part of the seat post as mjray suggests, then if I cannot adjust the saddle to a comfortable riding position it means a new seat post and clamp? Have I got that right?

No, that's not my name.

But I think yes, a new seat post and clamp (probably as one part) would be needed if you can't adjust that one.

I have adjusted a saddle clamped like that by using a heavy book and a spirit lever (wanted it straight) then tighten the bolts using 2 allen keys simultaneously.
If you wanted it tilted you could slide the book backwards to tilt the saddle up.
I prefer those clamps to the ones with the nuts at the side, they always seem to get jaggy and rip my leggings. I like a narrow at the front saddle, so them nuts are exposed

^^^^^+1 the clamp slides along the curve to adjust the angle with that type of post, if you need to change the post it will come with a clamp unless you buy a plain post (very old fashioned and hard to find nowadays unless you know where to look)
