How did you get on with Ribble and the replacement hanger in the end?

I eventually received the replacement bracket and paid my LBS to fit it and adjust the gears.
I'm not convinced the gears are quite right, it hops out of the smallest cog from time to time, usually when I'm at full pelt so it's a bit disconcerting.
I'll ask them to adjust the gears again. I'm assuming that's not a normal thing for SRAM gears?

On a positive note I love the bike, it took me 100km along the lovely Waterford Greenway this weekend which is the longest distance my wife and I have managed in a weekend so far.

Hopping off the smallest sprocket (or any sprocket) is neither normal nor satisfactory. You could take it back and ask your LBS to correctly adjust the gears - sometimes actual riding on the road shows up a minor mis-adjustment which looks fine on the bikestand in the shop. But if the chain is 'hopping' up the second smallest sprocket, turning the adjuster (on the derailleur (RD) where the cable arrives) clockwise a quarter turn (or a click) at a time will reduce the tension which is maybe causing your experience. Test (ie ride) and repeat till satisfied. Check once content that the RD will still shift the chain onto the largest sprocket. @Cycleops often comes along with a link to his favourite video on this.

My problem here is lack of experience, I've no idea how smooth a gear change should be...
Thanks for the tips, I'll try some slight adjustments as you say.
