Lose weight and get my fitness back. Hopefully I'll be properly back on my feet by the end of next month.

I'd put on a lot of weight this year anyway and it has been made worse by being laid up.

It would have been cheaper to buy a brand new fridge freezer from Curry's than eating takeaways for 2 months.
Ok, long story ... long.

I rent a room. 6 people in our house share 2 fridges. 1 fridge not working = we all had exactly half a shelf each to share in the remaining fridge.
Landlord tried to find a repairer. Urgent booking means waiting for 2 weeks.
Repairer checked the fridge - "I need to order parts for it".
Wait for 2 weeks for the parts to arrive.
Another 2 weeks for the repairer to come to us with all parts needed.
"Fridge is ok now, give it couple of hours to get back to normal" or smth like that. 6 hours later it was clear that he lied to us and fridge is dead.
Due to the size/planing of the kitchen we can only have a certain size fridge. Currys: "Due to the shortage of lorry drivers we cannot give you an ETA of your selected fridge".
So landlord ordered a new fridge somewhere else online. Another 2 weeks or so wait.

Old fridge died on 8th November. A new one was ready to use on 23rd December.

Seems like I'm no different from a fair few on here, lose weight and become more active of an evening. My job involves more and more sitting and it is really beginning to have an affect on me. I might see if I can convince Mrs Slick to come swimming with me after work. :okay:

I don’t do resolutions. It’s just an excuse to delay things till next year. You want to change things, carpe diem!
Yebbut if the diem happens to be Jan 1st, you might as well carpe it.

That argument only works once a year tho.

I think January is a bad time to make resolutions. It's cold and dark and not the best time to get motivated to do new things or stop doing ones you're addicted to. I think it'd be better to make resolutions in the spring maybe at the equinox. Certainly some time when days are a bit brighter and the weather better.

Mind I'd move New Year anyway. It's too close to Christmas which just creates a long break which can be very stressful for a lot of people. Wouldn't it be better to have one celebration in December and then another a couple of months later? Something to look forward to in the gloom of February.
