Saw them in reviews this morning, l like them but the durability (spares) of the Dualit swung the deal.
Something had been nagging at me (hashtag sad toaster bloke). Remembered whilst walking the dogs.

Whatever you don't drop it. However our Dualit is happily soldiering on complete with a cracked body.

My Aldi toaster blew up the other week while I was heating up poppadums in it. I think the oil off the things might've caused the problem.:unsure:
As any fule no, poppadums should be bought 'raw' (about a quid for a pack of 30 or so) and cooked for a minute each in the microwave - no oil involved, and they crisp up a treat.

I think the toastable ones are called poppads. The poppadums were the ones in a plastic box.already cooked. I just wanted to crisp them up as i'd opened the box the day before and not bothered to air tight them in a plastic bag. The toaster had lasted about 18 months,so not bad seeing as it was only about £13 with a kettle as well.
