Hey, i purchased a carrera subway one for some cycling on and off road. Due to an injury im not ready to get back on the road ao i purchased an indoor bike trainer. Now the sound it makes is crazy loud and i have heard that getting slick tyres would make it alot better. I have been looking at the tacx tyres but they only come in 27.5x1.25 for mtb and my size is 27.5x1.95. Will this fit? Or would i need to purchase a 1.25 tube? But then will that fit my rim ok? Sorry im a complete novice so could be a dumb question. Thanks

Hi, yeah i understand they are better but im asking if they will fit a 1.95 as thats the current wheel i have. Im assuming the tube size is the same? Trainer tyres only come in 1.25 size. So im not sure if it will fit. Thanns

Basically the only turbo trainer tyre available for mtb is 27.5 x 1 25 and my current wheel is 27.5 x 1.95. So what do i need to do to make this fit??

Thanks for the reply. I was just concerned that the difference of 50mm in depth would make a difference? I guess not

Can anyone explain to why these would fit to me? Sorry i cant get my head around it. All the research ive done stat that tyres usually will go from 1.4-2.2 etc but when it comes to having a 650x48b (27.5x1.95) there is hardly any information as to what else can fit it. I have a small budget and im just looking to be able to use my home trainer with this at the moment until im able to get on/off road again. Just want to make the right choice. The fact i have a 48mm tyre at the moment seems to be the problem. Just not sure if a smaller tyre width would fit? And if it would, to what is the lowest that will. Thanks again
