Thanks Gareth what about the 4 ?

Buy a track pump and inflate your tyres regularly to a suitable pressure - based upon tyre width.

This is some of the best advice you will find. The key word here is 'regularly'. Also, check tyres for road shrapnel and remove, regularly.

Stay on CC for loads of useful information, help and advice.

Get hold of a copy of 'Cyclecraft' and read, available from all good independent bookstores. (use that online african river, if you must!).

Most importantly, just get out and enjoy the ride.

I have a Defy 2 (2011 model) and its awesome. You will love the Defy and it has a nice stiff frame so when you throw it round a corner and find it tightens up and you are now going too fast, it doesn't spit you into a ditch.
I am now saving for a composite Defy 2. Very slowly saving after several setbacks but I will have a carbon bike.

Just keep riding and enjoy yourself. Don't get hung up on speed, power meters or anything, just turn those pedals and try to stop grinning as the flies get stuck in your teeth. Not a good look.

Difference between 1, 2 and 3:

1 - 105
2 - Tiagra
3 - Sora

Not much else in it, same frame etc

Don't they have different wheels too?
