Hello to all!
Obviously I'm a newbie - though looking forward to getting to know the site.
I have just purchased my first road bike frame and will be getting it built up over the following weeks ready for (fingers crossed) a beautiful summer!

Hello all,
My name is Tony, but because I'm a bit short and hairy my (drunk) friends decided many years ago to give me a more Hobbit like nickname.
Thanks to the wonderful powers of beer I am now known to friends, family and the wider world as Bobbins, and once I decide which hybrid I'm getting to replace
my recently mangled Carrera Crossfire I will be mostly found cycling the Liverpool end of the Leeds-Liverpool canal.

Morning, I just joined.. I have started cycling to work from yesterday 7 miles each way fog today and I have no lights so did not risk it.... I'm shocked with myself that I missed the ride in although my Arse isn't...

Can you recommend any decent lights?

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hi Shaun

I'm out on my bike A LOT. Mountainbiking regularly at Glentress in the Borders (usually pulling my small son in his trailer behind me - but less so now that he's mastered his balance bike), cycle touring all over the world (OK - that was pre-son), training to ride the few days I always do on the Tour de France route as part of our event (perk of the job) and riding for the sheer joy of the wind in my hair. I loathe spinning, but do it anyway in the winter months. Just a few more sessions to go before I ditch that in favour of the fresh air when the clocks change. So - that's me. Looking forward to following the chat.

Hi - just joined.. don't get too much time to converse on these but good to see such a great site. I live in Barnes and commute to the city daily and love the exercise! Spring's coming and that makes me feel very happy!

Just joined as saw link to this page in Stornoway Gazette re. Audax in Western Isles.
Gutted...in my own back yard but I'm heading to Yorkshire for TDF as a mate has a holiday cottage booked in the Dales right on the route.

Hi all ...... Though I'd join you all for a bit of cycle-social banter.
I've always ridden in one form or another, road / off road and have always loved it! But as I am in need of a fitness boost and a 'wee' trim down ;) I've started cycling to work, which is 16 miles each way, so much better than a gym membership.
I do think a hybrid bike will be in order though, save killing my spesh.

Looking forward to chatting to you all

Hello Del - is that who I think it is back on the bike?
Not many chances to see the Tour in Britain - Events are proving popular so there's next year to aim for.

Welcome to the forum and good to see you back on the bike :-)

Hi - unfortunately I don't, but start a new thread in the What Bike? forum and I'm sure you'll get some helpful replies.

Cheers,
