I signed up because I am really worried that my annual joy and one of the few things I like a TV for, is being threatened ie Le Tour. Why would anyone want a national team? That is totally against what most of us like about the tour - it's international flavour, beautiful scenery, and the feeling that you are watching a genuine bunch of athletes, where the hell they come from doesn't matter!! Great, get rid of the radios. And the teams are becoming a bit like the big football clubs where money rules - well I did say in my profile that I'm a grumpy old man .....

Hello.

I'm new, been cycling regularly for the past 4 years or so, commuting N.London to S.London on my trusty but weighty Specialized hybrid, doing around 20 miles a day. Just ordered a rather lovely Giant Avail 2 through Cyclescheme and looking to join a local CC to get some longer rides under my belt outside of the city with an eye on the DD and London-Brighton next summer.

Currently have 3 bikes and have realised that I maybe becoming a bit obsessed.

Late hello

Only just realised there's a hello thread ...

... Hello

Already posted elsewhere about wanting to get back into cycling. Bottom line is I haven't been on a bike (not a pedal cycle anyway) for about 20 years. So I'm spending sometime browsing here in the hope that expertise will be gradually absorbed through a process of osmosis and I won't look like such a numpty / make a wrong purchase when I get around to it in a week or so (if I can persuade the Mrs it's a good idea that is).

Hello, already posted a thread but thought I'd say hello here aswell.

Its been a while since I did any real cycling so I thought I would do some much needed research on everything from bikes to travel before I 'kill' myself doing a Europe trip which I intend to do next year for charity.

See you in the forums.

Cheers.

Well this is my first post so......HELLO!

Just started cycling after buying a bike 12months ago!! Knees and ankles arn't the best anymore so thought I would actually start using the thing. Entered and completed the Manchester to Blackpool last week and was chuffed to bits to do it in 4hrs 45mins considering I had only done 3 15 - 18 mile rides about 4 weeks before.

Anyway I have entered the Manchester 100 miler to focus the mind but I will definately train properly for that one! Only 7 weeks to go though!!

That's about it for now, cheers y'all.
