Hello to you all I'm Tristian from somewhere too close to Coventry to be comfortable. I have just swapped my old Carrera TDF (eBay cheapy) bought to see if i liked riding and the odd duathlon and triathlon for a shiny new Boardman road race.

I'm now trying to increase my mileage and build strength in the old legs and trying not to remortgage the house now the bug has bitten.

Welcome to the show that never ends. I too rushed out and bought a Boardman Road Race, around December last year, and have been enjoying riding it ever since, once I got my backside used to the saddle!

Oh the saddle that's going to take some getting used to I'm loving the bike though its a great fast ride. There are no good lbs where I am one sells everything for top money the other only deals in Claude butler and the hassles of trains to nearby city's etc made it an easy choice to go to a well known chain and the bike boys there know there stuff and built it well so I can't complain.

HEY EVERONE!!!
I'm Cathy from Plymouth, Devon. I'm keen to 'forum' regarding LEJOG's chat, cos stupidly enough I've said I'm DOING THE RUN NEXT APRIL!!! What the hell have I done!!
Ha!!:hyper: No not realy!.
This dream / plan / drive has been with me for a few years now, but fortunately .. or unfortunately ( how ever you want to read it ) I have been plagued with injuries throughout my sporting career.
In my sporty life, I've been fit, happy and healthy but in later years, since the age of 40, it seems I'd hit that age and all of a sudden , I picked up injuries and could shack them off. .

I'd played cricket ( represented Devon for a number of years! ) hockey, 3rd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, Football ( I played at the old Wembley in 1996 - or was it 98? - when Plymouth Argyle got through to the play off's and played for Devon for again a number of years )
I love my bike, could service and maintain it far more often than I do really and feel it's the best thing I have ever bought ... Oh !! apart obviously than my marriage certificate! :girl: obtained 25 years ago in September.!! ( sorry Darling! )

I'm up to tap away on the keyboard tell you all my funnies in my prepartion for this epic April voyage! as well as be educated and enlightened from those who have foregone me!! Oh! Wisened Folks! :highfive: I am merely a sponge, ready to be soaked!!
Shine On Moonbeams!!!!!

Hello, thought I'd make an account after reading a lot of helpful posts as a lurker (:<.

I've cycled since I was old enough on and off but in the last 8 months got my hands on my Dad's old Matrix Express and finally got into the road using cycling as my primary transport when not going to and from school, as unfortunately there are no showers .
Recently I've learned a little about bike anatomy from my Granddad and have been slowly putting time and money into my beloved bicycle. At the moment it's due a bit of a (self) service but here's a picture of it a month ago.

I obviously enjoy cycling but also maintaining bikes and helping other people get into it. Anyway don't wanna drag this out so hello everyone.

Joe.

* Tried to use spoilers so I wasn't spamming my picture but I'm not sure how, I couldn't see how in the "BB Codes" section in "Help".
